Can dogs and cats be friends? Can cats be friends with goats? Do animals really even make friends? In my city life my interaction with animals was practically non-existent, I had a dog and that was it. Now the animals at the Freedom Farm are my constant companions, I walk with them, feed them, care for them, play with them, and even enjoy watching them playing with each other. The evening is when our animals tend to be most playful so I bring my phone with me in the hope of catching some of the playfulness on camera. I find the interaction between goats and cats particularly fascinating and I’m particularly proud of how my fairly large dogs are so gentle and unaggressive when they play with the kittens. Goat behaviour is very interesting but not for the fainthearted and when the goats get the zoomies myself and the other animals prefer to stand back and admire the performance from a distance! We have brought harmony to our little corner of the earth by eliminating stressors from the environment, healthy diets, constant supervision, never missing an opportunity for training and most importantly an unwavering routine. These factors allow the animals to be relaxed and feel at home, there are no roads nearby and no traffic or other sources of danger. Our off-grid lives on the mountain are rarely interrupted by the unexpected, sometimes that can get boring but for the most part it’s just a precious island of calm in a crazy busy world. The Freedom Farm is a quiet and tranquil place for humans and animals to live, work, and play together without interruption from the busy world. Now you can relax with us in the cool evening breeze and enjoy these sweet and gentle animals playing together.
